Apparently, Pokemon TCG Live released today, but I can't play it, since it's way too laggy on my phone, and it fails to load the login page when ran with Wine 😭
It just goes back to the language selector after a few seconds...
Now I'm getting a notice that says the servers are down for scheduled maintenance. Here's hoping it resolves itself!

It works now!
The problem was that PTCGL uses a Unity plugin called Vulpex Webview for the login page, which uses shared memory. Shared memory isn't implemented in Wine currently, so it fails to load.
However, if you use a fork of wine that does support shared memory (like wine-ge-custom), you can log in and play just fine!

I know the popular thing is to talk about how Musk is breaking twitter, but tumblr staff just pushed an update to the mobile app that makes it so you can't see anyone's bio!
Twitter is a broken website because of bad management. Tumblr is just always broken.

I get why people are complaining about the performance issues and glitches in the new Pokemon games, but honestly, I like them.
When I was a kid, I loved watching Pokemon glitch videos, and seeing all the ways Red, Blue, and Yellow could be broken. I was disappointed that I couldn't do those glitches in the games that I had. Kid-me would have adored Pokemon SV.
A little jank is good for a game. It builds character.

@jsatk Yes and no. There is no (legitimate) way to transfer a Pokemon from Gen 2 to Gen 3. You can transfer from Gen 3 all the way to Gen 9, but you can't get from Gen 1 to Gen 3.
You *can* transfer from the 3DS virtual console Red and Blue directly to Pokemon Bank, but is that really transferring from the "original" Red and Blue?
@jsatk Yeah, Ruby and Sapphire had a different trading protocol from Gens 1 and 2. As well as the GBA and GBC using different link cables.
It could have been possible, but would have required a separate accessory to handle communication between a GBC and GBA.

@graay YouTube Music is ok. On the free tier there are ads and you can't turn the screen off while music is playing. But if you have your own collection of MP3s (or if you bought albums from Google Play Music before it was shuddered), you can import those and stream your MP3s completely ad free and with the screen off.

I was going to post my YouTube Music recap, but then I realized that I have my YouTube history set to auto-delete after 3 months. So, the recap is only for the past 3 months and most of my listening history for 2022 is deleted. Oh, well.
There is one interesting thing, though: if I made it to the top 2% of Weird Al listeners in just the past 3 months, I imagine I must have been the top Weird Al listener if you could include the entire year!

Impractical Use of Live Captions: Adding Captions to Half Life
I decided to try this as a quick experiment. Can you use the Live Captions program to add subtitles to a video game that doesn't have them like Half Life? The answer is: kind of.
It works pretty well in "cutscene" situations, where just one person is talking and there aren't many audio effects going on. But in normal gameplay where multiple characters might talk over each other, there are intrusive audio effects, and you may walk away from the character that's speaking, it's practically useless. (Obviously, it works better with clearer audio)

@HulloItsIcy Thunderbird is probably your best bet for a desktop mail client that isn't Outlook.
- You can add Gmail and Outlook (Outlook will need an app password if you have 2FA on your MS account)
- There's rule based filtering, and colored tags that can be applied to messages.
- Outlook calendar is not supported, AFAIK. You can import an ics from outlook, but it's read only
The Sega Mega Drive and Genesis Classics achievements on steam are a little busted. Everything is extremely rare, since most people haven't played all of the games in the collection.
My rarest achievement shouldn't be getting 5000 points in Columns. It should be that time I left the Stanley Parable running for 24 hours on a Tuesday. Now that's a real achievement to be proud of!
Also, shout outs to the random Project DIVA achievement in my rarest achievements. Only 4.3% of players can accomplish the truly hardcore task of making Hatsune Miku wear a custom t-shirt.
